Antique dealers plan spring show

The Wayne County Antique Dealers' Association will present it 28th annual Spring Show and Sale on April 13, at the Quality Inn Newark, on Route 88. The show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A wide selection of antiques, including furniture, clocks, glass, china, bottles, pottery, postcards, advertising, political items, toys, textiles, buttons, jewelry, primitives, and more items intended to appeal to a broad range of collecting interests, will be offered by 49 quality dealers.

The Wayne County Historical Society will present local history publications. The Ontario Historical Society and the Pultneyville Historical Society will have display booths. The groups shared in the first $1000 grant from the Wayne County Antique Dealers' Association.

Herbert Kopp will provide expert glass restoration all day, and Ed Cornwell will give verbal antique appraisal from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., at $3 per item.

There is a donation of $2.50 at the door, a portion of which supports the projects of the Newark High School Band Boosters. The Quality Inn will offer its regular menu, brunch and a chicken barbecue. To stimulate interest in antiques in young people, those under 18 years of age attending with a parent will be admitted free as guests of the Association. The latest Wayne County Antique Dealer's Directory and Map will be distributed at the show. The non-profit group also presents an annual October Harvest Show at the Williamson High School.
