Gift certificates for Mother's Day

St. Mark's Episcopal Church is offering gift certificates for Mother's Day. They can be redeemed at the parish's 6th annual Garden Faire on May 31. The cost of the certificate is $5, and it may be cashed in to purchase a seating in the Tea Room, which is serving delightful treats such as hot scones, buttery shortbread, tarts, and tea sandwiches, accompanied by tea or lemonade.

Or, you may use it to purchase any one of several commercially grown perennial plants, kitchen herbs, hanging baskets, geraniums, and annuals to make your own home garden more beautiful.

The gift certificates may be purchased at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 400 South Main Street, Newark, Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the parish office, or Sundays 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. until May 11.

The day of the Faire there will also be several items of particular interest to gardeners raffled off at 2:30 p.m. There will be a hat and apron, a handmade wreath, a lovely book with a gardening theme, an ivy topiary, and a terra cotta pot filled with gardening hand tools and seeds.

Admission to the Faire is free.
