6th Annual Garden Faire

Has winter's long exit started to wear you down? Looking for colors other than white, brown, tan, and dirty? Then come to the 6th Annual Garden Faire at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 400 South Main Street, Newark, NY on May 31, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is priced right: free!

flower bedThe parish will be providing needed garden items such as perennials, annuals, herbs, hanging baskets, and geraniums. Craftsmen from the area will have their wares available for sale. And as much a part of the event as the flowers, the parish women will be offering "English tea' - in an appointed Victorian setting - affording a delightful respite from the hectic day-to-day coffee breaks. For $5, one can partake in hot buttery scones, buttery shortbread, fruit tarts, and tea sandwiches all accompanied by tea or coffee served from a "proper' tea serving set.

This year, the Garden Faire committee and Vestry have chosen Hannick Hall of the Catholic Family Center Restart Program to be the benefactors in the geranium pre-sale. Hannick Hall is a residential treatment program that assists women and their families in drug rehabilitation to obtain skills needed to have a drug-free life. Money donated from the geranium pre-sale will be used to provide the children of these often poverty-stricken families with such common things as crib sheets, blankets, and bath towels, or for a much longed for special treat of a childrens video.

Won't you help make this year's pre-sale and Faire a success? Pencil it in on your calendar, May 31 at St. Mark's Church, Newark.
