State to fund county projects Lawmakers have secured $11.3 million in this year's state budget for Cayuga, Seneca, Wayne, Ontario, and Monroe Counties. The state budget will reduce taxes by $.7 billion and reform the State's welfare system. Wayne County will receive $1.6 million in funding for the following projects: $1.5 million for the Finger Lakes Ontario Watershed Protection Alliance. $40,000 to the Erie Canal Cultural Center (ECCC) to assist with the development of a 3200-square foot portion of the ECCC facility. $25,000 to the Town of Lyons for general repairs. $10,000 for the Town of Rose to assist in the construction of the Galen/Wolcott Road Water Transmission Main. $7500 for the Wayne County Humane Society to assist in providing additional equipment at its Lyons facility. $5000 each to the public libraries in Sodus, Red Creek, Rose, Walworth, Wolcott and Williamson, for the purchase of new materials. $10,000 to the International Freshwater Resource Center for a feasibility study of Indoor Aquaculture at the Old Malt House in Sodus Point.
