A trip to Peppermintz

Head south from Lyons on Route 14 to Alloway, and you'll find the Peppermintz Gallery. The shop boasts artwork, gift baskets, tapestries, candles, gourmet foods, pottery...

The art includes the Folk Art Watercolors by Betty Shamblen. Shamblen grew up in Pultneyville, and that rural and historic community inspired many of her scenes. The gallery also offers artworks by Newark's R.W. Ware.

Late Wednesday afternoon, patrons gathered around the new Peppermintz gazebo to hear harpist Roxanne Zigler. (Watch our "Events' listings for such happenings.)

All enjoyed an afternoon of refreshments, lovely music and browsing through the gallery.
