Be sure to stop by the First Reformed Church's Strawberry Shortcake Booth at the Antique Car Show at the Marion Town Park on Sunday, August 17. Stop by the Masonic Temple on Heritage Day, Saturday, August 23, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for some Reuzel Bollen and coffee served by Richards Chapter, OES. There will also be a mini garage sale. Myrna Quigley was a recent patient at the Clifton Springs Hospital. On Wednesday, August 6, my sisters, Barb DeWandel, Nancy Smith, Linda Roeland and our mother, Florence Martin, and I spent a vacation day together. We visited old haunts such as Selkirk Shores and ate at the Golden Fish Restaurant in Port Ontario. We observed the tall ships in Oswego and stopped along the way at some garage sales! Much talking! Happy Birthday Wishes to Ethel Stone on August 24, 1997. August 15, 1951 - Congregations of the First and Second Reformed Churches will join for a special evening meeting, Sunday, to hear Miss Ann DeYoung, formerly of Newark, who has recently returned from the Reformed Church Mission State at Amoy, China. Dan and Mary Filibert has as house guest their daughters, Janet King and sons, Stephen, and Christopher from Grapevine, TX and Len and Lorraine Thein from Meparie, LA. A belated family picnic was held for Jim and Carrie White on August 3 in honor of their recent 50th Wedding Anniversary. A big SURPRISE was the appearance of their daughter, Mary McCabe and daughter, Anna from Prescott, AZ. The party was held at their son, Dick and Lee White's home and other family members attending were daughter Margaret White and family from East Amhurst and a brother and sister and family from Palmyra. "Too much of a good thing is WONDERFUL!" Kasey Bliek, daughter of Bruce and Joyce Bliek has just returned from her first time at camp. She spent six days and nights at Camp Whitmen on Seneca Lake with a group of 13 kids. They slept in cabins and had lots of fun. She met and made some new friends. Judy White presented the Ministry of Music at the morning worship service at the Second Reformed Church on August 10. Johanna Williams is recuperating following cataract surgery. Jack Geldof is at home following back surgery. Dennis Van Strien has had recent knee replacement surgery at the Sodus Hospital. Neil Pieters is presently residing at the DeMay Living Center in Newark. top of
