Brady gets another term as
County highway head When the Wayne County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, legislators reappointed County Highway Superintendent Jim Brady to a four-year term. Brady's tenure has been controversial, with police investigations into several incidents at the department. Butler Supervisor Dave Spickerman was the self-appointed watchdog of the highway crew, and often voted against highway resolutions because of his dismay with the department. On Tuesday, though, even Spickerman supported Brady's reappointment. Before the vote, Highway Committee Chair Donna Chittenden (Sodus) took the opportunity to remind supervisors that Brady has been instrumental in the "positive transformation" of the department, has defined policy, and met every deadline. "No other county department has been put to the test like the highway department...Jim has worked hard and he deserves our support." Spickerman stood and began, "Seeing as I've been the trouble-maker..." He continued, echoing Chittenden's remarks, and vowed to support Brady.
