Peters led the Reds with 20 points followed by Strait with 19, Jason Sloane with eight and Tanner Webb with six points. The Reds were 22 of 60 from the field with a 31-21 edge in rebounding. Strait led the Reds with eight rebounds.

The Reds advanced to the championship game on November 29 against host Vernon Verona Sherrill.

The score was 12-12 at the end of the first period. In the second period, the Reds led 25-18 at one point and extended the lead to 27-18. Newark held a 29-24 lead at the half. Strait led the Reds with eight first-half points followed by Webb's seven, and Greg Ide's five points. Newark held a 42-32 lead going into the final quarter.

In the final period VVS climbed back into the game trailing 52-50 with 2:15 left in the game. Matt Crumb hit one of two foul shots to get the Red Devils closer in the game.

A late steal by Tanner Webb sealed the win for the Reds. Late in the fourth period the Reds appeared tired. "The fact that we started a week late this year and lost four days to the senior trip had an effect on our conditioning and execution. VVS had ten extra practice days and it certainly showed," said Coach Ceravolo. "I have to give an awful lot of credit to the determination and courage of our players to win this tournament. Their effort was outstanding in both games and our execution will be better in time for the start of the Finger Lakes season."
