Marion Library wins grant

Bill Cloutier,  Cher Niedermaier,  Dan TuckThe Marion Public Library is announcing that a $5,000 grant has been awarded by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester for the "Kids Communicate" program at the library.

This grant will enable the library to purchase computer equipment and software to help give the young people of Marion top-notch computer access. This grant will help facilitate the long range goal of the library to provide support services to alternative educational facilities in the community.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides lodging, comfort and emotional support to families of children receiving medical treatment at area hospitals and reaches out to families with support for other children's charities. Funds for grantmaking come from McDonald's restaurant canisters and national McDonald's promotion.
