Encore cemetery walk held
Seven actors reprised their roles of early Newark residents. The actors performed on the stage at the museum by light from a kerosene lamp. Slides of the seven gravestones were taken at night and shown next to the stage, in an effort to duplicate the atmosphere of the October Cemetery Walk. Actors included: (back row) Doug Kraai, Robert Gorall, Bill VerDow, Burton Ford, Ed Pecoy; (front row) Dave Honness, Leo Kamalsky. They portrayed a Revolutionary War veteran, architect Stephen N. Keener (played by Jim Brady at the cemetery), Newark's founder, Joseph Miller, William H. Stuart, who died at a political rally, farmer David Fox, brother of the Fox Sisters,a Civil War veteran, and inventor and attorney Stephen Culver. The Cemetery Walk scripts were written by Robert Hoeltzel, Arcadia Town Historian. The production was directed by David Honness.
