'Old Newark' for sale

On December 16, the Newark Village Board authorized the Newark Volunteer Fire Department to raise money to purchase a state-of-the-art infrared imaging camera.

This $25,000 camera allows firefighters to see through dense smoke conditions, frequently found in residential and commercial fires. This will enhance the firefighters efforts to locate victims within the building. This camera will also allow the firefighters to locate hidden fires within a structure while minimizing damage.

The Village and the Fire Department will be working together, selling an historic videotape, depicting the village of Newark in the early 1940's. See Newark during the war effort, watch meetings of the Lions and Rotary Clubs, watch scenes from the Newark Police Department, and Fire Department, and the Newark D.P.W. Enjoy a glimpse of the Rose and Memorial Day parades. Take a look at downtown Newark, during a busy Saturday night.

The $25 tape may be purchased by calling Newark Electric at 331-0414. For more information on the infrared equipment, click here.
