Lynne Green is new United Way Director

Lynne Green pictureUnited Way of Wayne County opened the doors of its new office at 165 East Union Street, Newark, at a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday.

Lynne Green, of Palmyra, was named as the new director of United Way of Wayne County. She will be responsible for coordinating community projects and volunteers, planning and implementing the annual fundraising campaign, and providing support to Wayne County's Board of Directors and service providers.

"Our United Way already has an excellent formula for success. The extraordinary volunteer leadership, tremendous community support and dedication of our service providers has made our United Way more efficient and effective than ever," said Green. "I'm looking forward to the opportunities and challenges of the position. I am committed to advancing the organization and increasing its capacity to respond to the county's critical human service needs."

She also serves on the Palmyra-Macedon School Board and the Palmyra Town Board. Lynne and Richard Green have six children: Paula, David, Dan, Edie, Jeremy and Michael, and four grandchildren.

United Way of Wayne County is a local, non-profit organization affiliated with United Way of Greater Rochester that brings together businesses and organizations.
