Teens crash through house

Three local teens were shaken up last week when their car slammed into the house at 6666 Blue Cut Road. Property owners Sara and Paul Wemett were inside last Friday morning, but were not hurt as the car flew sideways through their front wall. The accident happened around 9 a.m. (July 18).

Blue Cut Road barnAccording to police, the driver, Paul W. May Jr., lost control after passing a car. Trooper Terry Clark's report said the car hit mailboxes and then crossed the center line, crashing into the converted barn. May was treated for head and neck injuries at Newark-Wayne Hospital and later released.

His passengers, Brandon English, 16 and Justin Fostr, 14, were treated for headaches and minor cuts. They were released from the hospital as well.

May, 19, of Sutton Road, was charged with unsafe passing, failure to keep right, and excessive speed.
