Dragons win at Cheektowaga

Four Newark Dragon Swimmers participated in the Cheektowaga annual Summer Long Course Invitational Meet July 11 - 13, at Cheektowaga. The USS Sanctioned event was held in a 50-meter outdoor pool.

A total of 338 swimmers from 26 swim clubs in the Niagara District participated in the event. The four Newark swimmers amassed enough team points to be ranked as the fifth highest of 21 small teams. All of the Newark swimmers achieved best times and qualified for the Junior Olympics to be held August 14-17 at the University of Buffalo at Amherst.

Adam Bald, with a total of 40 individual points was winner of the high point trophy for boys (ages 13 &14) in the C Division.
