Marbletown will host Fire Convention The Marbletown Volunteer Fire Department is hosting the Wayne County Volunteer Firemans Association Convention, June 11-13. To celebrate the fire department's 25th anniversary in community service, they invite the community. On Wednesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. a Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on East Miller Street, to honor fallen firefighters and auxiliary members. On Friday, June 13, at 7 p.m. a firemen's parade will be held. The line-up will begin at 6 p.m. on Newark DDSO grounds on Vienna Street. The parade will move south on Vienna Street, to Silverhill Road, east on Silverhill Road to the Marbletown Firehouse. The judges stand will be on Vienna Street by Tony's Lawn Care. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, salt potatoes, soda, beer, wine coolers, and games of chance. The following roads will be closed for traffic between 6:45 p.m. until the parade is finished: Vienna Street between East Maple Avenue and Sweed Road, Silverhill Road between Route 88 and Sweed Road.
