Winners from Newark at Business Symposium

Finger Lakes Community College recently hosted the eighth Business Symposium and Competition. A total of 150 participants from nine high schools took part in the day-long activity, coordinated by the FLCC business administration department.

The team from Canandaigua Academy, who scored first in Accounting and Retailing, were the overall competition winners. Newark High symposium winnersSchool students placed first and second in Marketing/Advertising; participants from Honeoye Falls-Lima took first place honors in Economics and Communications; and Livonia's Jaime Perry took score first in Keyboarding.

The top winners included:

Solving: students from Canandaigua Academy.

Marketing/Advertising: Team from Newark High School (2nd place in Marketing: Jen Loson, Meg Boyd and Jake Hobbs. Third place Marketing: Shannon Cole, Tom Palmeri, Rose Apak, Gina Bigler) and a Bloomfield team.

Retailing: Canandaigua Academy. Economics: teams from Honeoye Falls-Lima, Bloomfield and Dansville. Keyboarding: students from Livonia and Prattsburg. Communications: students from Honeoye FallsLima and Bloomfield.
