County Fair queen, princess contest

The 1997 Wayne County Fair Queen and Princess competition will be Friday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at Marion Central High School in Marion. The Wayne County Fair Queen/Princess and court will reign over the 1997 Wayne County Fair August 11 -16.

Girls ages 12-14 as of June 1 are eligible to compete for the Princess Court, and girls ages 15-17 are eligible to compete for Wayne County Fair Queen Court. Contestants must be single, a resident of Wayne County or a member of a Wayne county 4-H club and attending a public/parochial school with a passing average. There will be no entry fee!

Queen/Princess and Court will be chosen on poise, personality, public speaking, interview, and evening gown competition. Pre-pageant activities include introduction/group photo session, roller-skating party and pizza party. All pre-pageant activities will take place in Palmyra, Macedon and Marion.

Applications are available at all Wayne County School offices, the Wayne County 4-H office, or by calling Colleen Flye, 315-986-1239, Dave Heckman 315-986-9342, Marlene or Bethany LeMoyne 315-986-2997 or Pam Moll 716-872- 6005. Applications must be returned to Pam Moll no later than Friday, March 28.
