Newarkfest is June 6, 7 & 8 There'll be loads of family fun in downtown Newark on June 6,
7 & 8. Newarkfest will be in full swing - arts & crafts,
free concerts, lots of food. Alpha Delta Nik will perform on June
6, Ruby Shooz on Saturday night, and on Sunday, 2-4 p.m., there
will be traditional folk music by A short walk from Central Park, you'll find St. Michael's Parish Festival on June 6 & 7 - rides, games and raffles. And Rose Day is Sunday! Parades... There will be parades on Saturday and Sunday! People from local businesses and industries will strut their stuff on Satuday morning, stepping off at 9:30 a.m. The Rose Parade will begin on E. Miller St. Sunday at noon - marching bands, youngsters, decorated bicycles, all leading to fun along the Erie Canal. Plenty to do... Make note of the time and place of special events: there will be Karate Demonstrations on Saturday at the downtown Show Wagon at 11 a.m. and at 3 p.m.; Dancers will take the Show Wagon stage at noon and at 2 p.m.; The Water Street Boys Band will perform at the Central Park bandstand Saturday at 4. On Sunday, take in the noon car show at Route 88 and Grant St. Great food... Hungry for a buffalo burger? Or maybe you prefer Italian food, or German...How about a pig roast? Fried dough, funnel cakes, cheesecake, root beer floats, lemonade... Oh, and of course you'll find the old favorites, too - hot dogs, hamburgers, peanuts, sausages, grilled peppers and onions. Rose Day is June 8 Take a stroll to T. Spencer Knight Canal Park on Sunday, June 8 for Rose Day. There will be a noon parade, vendors, live entertainment, and roses, roses, roses! The Civil War Cannons will fire at 1:45 p.m.; storytelling by the canal begins at 4, and rock 'n' roll music by Salt of the Earth at 5. See you at Newarkfest! Copyright
