The Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion will have a spaghetti supper on Nov. 8.

Whitney and Dylan G-Bowley of Marion recently auditioned for the North Carolina Dance Theater's Nutcracker. Some 300 children auditioned at the Hochstein School of Music on October 24; 55 were chosen. The G-Bowley's will be dancing the part of soldiers for this annual holiday classic. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the cast for six performances during its three day run November 28 through November 30 at the Eastman Theater. Whitney is a seventh grade student and Dylan is a fifth grade student at Allendale-Columbia School in Pittsford.

The United Church Bazaar is Saturday, Nov. 8, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Lunch served from 11:30 to 1 p.m.

Happy birthday wishes to Elizabeth DeLyser on November 9.

Congratulations to Rev. and Mrs. Kevin Bushart on the birth of a daughter, Heather Nicole, weighing 7 lb., 11 oz., on October 27. Proud grandparents are Stan and Isabelle Bushart of South Main St.

Dan and Mary Filibert celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on October 19 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Westbrook in Clearwater, FL. Those attending the celebration were Pauline Fitzpatrick and Ronald and Kay VanCamp.

In honor of Joyce Cantwell's Halloween birthday, she and I had lunch at the Greystone Golf Club on Wednesday.

Nancy Nevelizer has returned to her Witherden Road home following bypass surgery.

Have you noticed all the renovations going on at the Marion Town Hall and the building next door? New windows, paint, trees planted in front!

The Compassionate Friends will be holding their annual Candlelight Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 19 at the Second Reformed Church. Everyone is invited to attend. If you wish, you may bring a picture or memento of your loved one to share with those attending. Refreshments will be served.

Pam Wolfanger spent the weekend of October 24 visiting her daughter Paige in Columbus, OH. On Saturday, they drove to Cedarville, OH to visit their friend Heather Murdoch.

Congratulations and best wishes to Laura (VanLare) and James Eggleston who were joined in marriage on September 20, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Newark. Laura is the daughter of David and Diane VanLare. The couple are making their new home in Schenectady.

NOVEMBER 4, 1937 - Farm Bureau committeeman, William Howell, of Marion, grew his own John Baer tomato plants, set an acre and three quarters of land, and delivered to the canning factories 35 tons of tomatoes.

Marion Central School buildings will again be open during the upcoming winter months for walking. The elementary hallways will be available for walkers Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 8 a.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The high school hallways will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please follow these hours from November 1 through March 1.
