Happenings By Carolyn Adriaansen (926-4436) John and Eileen Ballesty of Cory Corners Road had visitors from Australia for nearly three weeks. Visiting were 23-month-old Erin and four-month-old Elise Ballesty, their mother Joyce, and her friend Edwina. Dear Dan: Boy! Did the leaves all come down! And now the ground, and everything else, is covered with the white stuff we call snow. (Birthday wishes to Mary on the 19th). It's time for the Museum Holiday Open House. Trifle will be served to visiting guests from 10 until 2. Come by and spend some time looking over the exhibits and displays and chat awhile. The gift shop will be open. NOVEMBER 24, 1917 - A.A. Clark and Sons, coal dealers, received two cars of nut coal the last of the week, which was distributed in two days, so great was the demand. There will be an Avon Products open house on Saturday, November 22, from 10 until 5, hosted by Joyce Bliek and Sue Devlin. It will be held at Sue's home at 4777 Farnsworth Road. Refreshments, door prize drawing. Stop by and do some gift shopping. Margaret Reynolds is recovering from cataract surgery. Harry Rich is at home after spending 15 days at the Rochester General Hospital. Barb Wilson accompanied by her daughter Melissa and Lesley Bush attended the ABC/NYS Annual Youth Retreat in Syracuse. If you missed the "Marion United Players" repeat performance on Saturday, you really did miss something! Imagine! A Dinner Theater in downtown Marion! The performances were outstanding, the decorations, timely and the food delicious. I hope they will present more entertaining evenings. The November 18 United Church Women's Circle Meeting was held at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Macedon. Lillian Cherrier informs me that she has a new great-granddaughter born on October 27. Her parents, Ronnie and Michelle have named her Alexandria Hope and she weighed 6 lbs. at birth. Eleanor Schoonerman has returned home following surgery. The guest organist at the Second Reformed Church on November 16 was Ann VerPlank. Marion's Community Thanksgiving Service, on November 26 will be held at 7:30 p.m. at St. Gregory's Church. The offering will go to the Marion Food Pantry. A special thanks offered during the service for those who serve the Lord through music ministry. Coffee fellowship will follow the service. "Be thankful for problems. If they were less difficult, someone with less ability might have your job." There is going to be a Noel Luncheon on Saturday, November 22 at the Second Reformed Church. Time is 10 a.m. 'til 2 p.m. Come early for coffee and reuzel bollen.
