Eighth grader Katie Lewis was selected by her art teacher, Mrs. Cooney to be profiled this week. When art projects don't always go smoothly, Katie perseveres and stays committed to her goal of excellent achievement.

Katie is described as polite, kind, helpful to others, with a friendly smile for all. Besides art, Katie enjoys activities with family and friends. She also likes to jog and read and is a member of Mrs. DeVoogt's Book Club. Katie is a member of the Yearbook Staff, Choir, and she plays flute in the Junior High Band. She is active in her church youth group.

Katie and brother Brian are the children of Bill and Debbie Lewis.
