Sodus needlework and quilt show set There will be a quilt and needlework show at the United Third Methodist Church in Sodus on October 17 and 18, from 10 to 4 (both days). Last year's Viewer's Choice winners will be on display, along with many other quilts and needlework pieces. In addition to a magnificent display of locally-made quilts and needlework, there will be quilts for sale, door prizes every half hour, quilt-related vendors, and a drawing for a Country Christmas quilt, made and donated by Dawn Wilcox. Classes and demonstrations will be available on paper piecing, the cathedral window technique, take-along grandmother's flower garden, and counted cross-stitch. A light lunch will be available. A donation of $2 will be requested at the door, with all proceeds to benefit the Stained Glass Window Fund. The United Methodist Church, located at 56 West Main St., Sodus, is handicapped accessible. For more information, class times or to enter a quilt or needlework piece, call the church (483-9718), Shirley Johnston (483-2284), Dawn Wilcox (587-9608), Mary Ann Riker (483-6237), or Judy Bezon (483-8259).
